These weeks, the roads of Flanders are the stage for the best cycling of the season: the flemish classics. I was struck by the photo of these clippings, that the riders of the Leopard-trek team stuck to their bikes during 'Dwars door België' of last Wednesday (won by Nick Nuyens). In a way, this low-tech navigation system matches the battles on these steep Belgian hills with their medieval names.
Deze weken zijn de Vlaamse wegen het toneel van de mooiste wielersport van het seizoen: de Vlaamse klassiekers. Ik werd getroffen door deze foto van knipsels die de renners van het Leopard-Trek team op hun fiets plakten tijdens 'Dwars door België' van afgelopen woensdag (gewonnen door Nick Nuyens). Op een bepaalde manier past dit low-tech navigatiesysteem goed bij de strijd die wordt geleverd op de Belgische heuvels met hun middeleeuwse namen.
